This whirlwind tour takes you through the most memorable sights of one of the continent’s ancient civilizations, the natural marvel that is Iguazu Falls, and the fantastic scenery and spirit of two of South America’s most beautiful cities; colourful Rio de Janeiro and sophisticated Buenos Aires in a little more than two quick weeks.

Day 1: AUSTRALIA - SANTIAGO - LIMA

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2: LIMA - CUZCO - SACRED VALLEY (B)

Half day city tour of colonial and modern Lima. Afternoon transfer for your flight to Cuzco. On arrival transfer to your hotel located in the Sacred Valley.

Day 3: SACRED VALLEY (B, L)

Explore the Sacred Valley and learn about the customs and ancestral weaving techniques in the indigenous town of Chinchero. Continue to Moray, an impressive Inca agricultural research facility and finish at the Ollantaytambo fortress.

Day 4: SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU (B, L, D)

Start your two-day trip to the unforgettable ruins of Machu Picchu with a train journey through spectacular mountain scenery. On arrival at Aguas Calientes town, shuttle bus to the mountain where you will be guided through this beautiful forgotten citadel, home of an incredibly advanced civilisation.

Day 5: MACHU PICCHU - CUZCO (B)

You will have this morning free to explore the ruins at your own pace before catching the return train back to Cuzco.

Day 6: CUZCO (B)

Guided half-day tour of the ancient Inca capital of Cuzco, exploring temples, ruins and museums showcasing this wondrous civilisation.

Day 7: CUZCO - LIMA (B)

Morning at leisure to wander through the cobble streets of Cuzco or explore the many museums. Transfer and afternoon flight to Lima.

Day 8: LIMA - SAO PAULO - RIO DE JANEIRO (B)

Flight to Rio de Janeiro via Sao Paulo. Transfer to hotel. Afternoon free to explore this captivating city or lounge by the famous Ipanema or Copacabana beach.

Day 9: RIO DE JANEIRO (B, L)

Today get in touch with the heart and soul of the city on a open jeep tour exploring the most iconic landmarks of this exhilarating city. Visit the Tijuca forest, Corcovado mountain, Christ the Redeemer statue, Sugar Loaf mountain, for splendid views of the city and Guanabara bay, and finish at the beautiful Botanical Gardens.

Day 10: RIO DE JANEIRO (B)

Free day to explore the city or relax by the beach. Tonight discover Rio’s nightlife at ‘Rio Scenarium’, home to a collection of furniture and antiques turned into works of art. Taste the particularly moreish porções (finger food platters) while listening to fabulous live music from the cream of Brazil’s musicians.

Day 11: RIO DE JANEIRO - IGUAZU FALLS (B)

Transfer to airport, fly to Iguazu Falls. Tour of the Brazilian side of the falls for a panoramic view of this natural marvel.

Day 12: IGUAZU FALLS - BUENOS AIRES (B)

Today you will take a guided walk along the many trails on the Argentine side of the falls, including a small train journey to the Devil’s Throat, the impressive point through which the most water flows through this magnificent cascade.  Afternoon transfer to the airport, fly to Buenos Aires.

Day 13: BUENOS AIRES (B, D)

Half day tour of South America’s stylish capital, Buenos Aires, whose architecture and boulevards are influenced by a strong European heritage. Visit the bohemian street market of La Boca, the tango barrio of San Telmo and the famous Recoleta cemetery, home to the resting place of Eva Peron. In the evening you will be taken to feast on some succulent Argentine beef and be treated to a lively dinner and tango show

Day 14: BUENOS AIRES - AUSTRALIA (B)

Morning at leisure to explore this exciting city or go shopping. Afternoon transfer for your flight to Australia.
